ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First I want to thank my Mother. My Mother has been everything to me and has been my entire life. She’s not only the most loyal woman I have ever known but the most giving as well. She’s always made me feel like I could be and do anything I wanted if I put my mind to it. My Mother taught me how to be compassionate and love people regardless of what race or religion they are. She taught me what it is to be loyal to friends, family and faith and everything in between. She taught me to try and always be a gentleman and carry myself with class and dignity. My Mom and myself have been through a lot throughout our lives and one of the sayings I live by is a quote my Mother has said to me my entire life which is, “You can knock us down, but you’re never going to knock us out”.

My Father who taught me how to believe in myself and never stray away from who you really are. He was the original one to always tell me to think positive. He taught me to be the man I always wanted to be and never let anyone make you think you don’t deserve it. Regarding our work my Father also had a saying that we lived by, and that is “There is no such thing as perfection, but if you don’t aim for it you’ll never come close.”

My two daughters Demi and Dawna for putting up with one of the craziest fathers out there. My daughters are and will always be my everything. I was waiting for my daughters my entire life. I even wrote about how I was waiting for them in my freshman year high school journal. I really believe if not for my children, I would have never chased after my dreams. I have learned from my daughters just as much, if not more than I was able to teach them. I am so proud of my two daughters for being the most loving, polite and appropriate young women I know. There’s not an hour that goes by that I don’t thank the Universe for having two daughters.

To my ex-wife for everything she has done for me throughout my entire life. She stuck with me through the good times and the real bad and she will always be one of the most important people in my life. I am honored that she married me and loved me for as long she did. I love that we have two beautiful daughters together and wouldn’t change it for the world. She is one of the most brilliant and loyal women I know, and I am grateful for her always being there for me while being married and in divorce.

I want to thank my two cousins John Fairclough and Michael Fairclough. I never looked at John and Mike as my cousins but as my brothers. I don’t know where I would be without these two men. They have always treated me with so much love and affection that I will be grateful until the day I die. These two have brought such a world of kindness to me that it humbles me. I also want to thank Olivia Fairclough, one of the most down to earth, patient and beautiful women I know.

My cousin Joe (Schmoe) Fatigato who has always been by my side and taught me to listen and not always talk. Someone who taught me to say what you mean and mean what you say. I don’t remember a day of my life without my cousin Joe and I love that about us. I love that I can sit next to Joe and not say a word and just know that we both genuinely love each other for exactly who we are.

I wanted to thank my oldest and closest friend Jim Mango who always made me feel that being best friends was one of the most cherished things in our lives. He taught me how valuable it is to keep up with life long friendships. For also being there no matter where I was or what I was doing - he has always kept in touch to make sure I was safe. When it comes to friendships the only way I can explain it is that he’s the yin to my yang.

To my buddy Nino Chiappetta who always made me laugh harder than anyone I know. Nino always taught me that if you love someone you should always be looking out to help them no matter what the condition is. He also taught me to never refuse doing a favor for a loved one or friend as long as it’s within reason. People need to know you’re there for them under all circumstances. Nino was the one who taught me that I needed to be there for them as much as I needed them to be there for me.

I am so grateful for my old friend John Seastrom who has always been such a loyal good friend who I knew no matter what I was doing or where I was he was always there for me. He’s the friend who never questioned or judged me and just got a kick out of how different I was compared to everyone else he was around. The same goes for my old buddy Tony Taglia. Two of the most loyal friends anyone could ever ask for.

I want to thank my old friend Greg Richey. Greg was always the quiet, humble friend who wanted nothing but to just enjoy people’s company. A friend who always just wanted the best for everyone even though he was usually the one going through hard times. Greg is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to showing me what a great husband, father and friend should be.

I also wanted to thank one of my oldest friends Joe Pensante who has always had the knack of truly understanding who I am and also calling me out on my bullshit when needed, which was quite often. I have been through the most with Joey. We have laughed together, we have cried together, we have been through wars together and no matter what we have gone through we know the other is always around the corner when needed.

My buddy Miguel Martinez. It’s funny how you have friends you grew up with and you don’t see them often but when you do it’s like you were with them just yesterday. Miguel always made me feel safe and I always knew that if I needed anything he was always there for me. I thank him for that.

I want to also thank one of my closest friends and production partner Kevin Kachin. Kevin has taught me more in life than anyone else I know. He is the most brilliant man I know and his guidance, patience and knowledge helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. He really is my rock when it comes to guidance in my personal life and business.

My buddy Ray Gil for truly showing me how to be a great dad and overall a friend who was always offering a favor instead of asking for one. Ray helped me through some of the hardest times of my life and showed me how to change my life from a negative and turn it into a positive.

I am thankful for Walter Clark being not only a great friend but a friend I had so much in common with. Even though we came from two totally different backgrounds I always felt like we understood exactly where the other was coming from. Walter also inspired me to keep going and to know that one day I was destined to be something great.

I wanted to also thank Ed Sanchez for believing in me early in my career when almost no one else in the industry did. He always took time out even when extremely busy to review my films and scripts, and not only gave me an honest opinion on what he thought I should do to improve my craft but also help with my career.

Mark Simon is one of the most giving and gifted people I know. Mark always made me believe in myself and my talent. He was always there, never wanting me to give up on my dream as a filmmaker. He is more than just a mentor; he is like the big brother I always wish I had.

I wanted to thank Jerome Croushron for always taking time out to educate me regarding the entertainment industry and in life. For also teaching me how to start learning how to focus on things you want and not get so easily distracted. For his patience and assistance early in my film career when no one else would give me their time.

I am grateful to Tim Rhys for mentioning me in Movie Maker Magazine, making it a game changer in my film career. He was the first person to give it a shot and give me recognition as a filmmaker.

Last but not least I want to thank my editor/muse Margaret Jarvis for contributing all her knowledge and passion to my writing. If not for Margaret I would never have been able to accomplish what I set out to do regarding writing my books. When it comes to my writing it’s like she knows exactly how to voice my opinion and understands what’s in my heart and soul. I consider her more than just an editor but a gift from God and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

I have been so blessed by having so many friends and colleagues; there’s no way I could list them all. If you know me personally and we have a past together I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I believe each person that has come into to my life has helped me in more ways than they will ever know.

Family

I want to thank my family members on both sides for always keeping an eye on me and teaching me so many life lessons. To start off, I want to thank my Mother’s side of the family, the Fatigatos. To my great grand father Joe Fatigato who was like a second father to me. My grandfather taught me never to be afraid to speak your mind. Even though he was born and raised in Italy he made me understand that even though I was of Italian descent I was first and foremost an American, and I should be proud to be an American more than anything else in my life, and I couldn’t agree more. I also want to thank my Grandma Angie who always showed me so much love and affection.

I would also like to thank my Nonnie Mitz who I knew growing up always had my back and treated me more like a son than a grandchild, and still does. I would also like to thank my Uncle Rodgie, Uncle Tony and Uncle Joe. All three of these men taught me how laughter is also the best medicine. They also taught me to be a man and never take shit from nobody and not fear anything in your path. I also want to...
