The present volume is the fourth of five parts of Wa???f's History (T?r??-i Wa???f) in the German translation by the Austrian orientalist Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall (1774-1856). The author of this important piece of Persian historiography, ?araf ad-D?n ?Abd All?h b. Fa?l All?h Wa???f from Shiraz, describes the history of his home province Fars in the Mongol period in Iran including the history of neighbouring dynasties. The fourth volume of Wa???f's History covers the end of the reign of ??z?n ??n (1295-1304) and the reign of his brother and successor Öl?ait? (1304-1316). The last third of this volume is devoted to the description of the successors of Dschingis Chan in Transoxania
