Training a foal is no child´s play! It can be a fascinating experience, but it requires the correct mixture of horse knowledge and intuitive feeling. In addition to the essential basic knowledge, the author offers tips and suggestions to ensure the successful training of your foal.

Raise a confident and happy horse through sensitive training! Correct training follows from knowledge of how horses develop physically, mentally, and behaviourally. A horse which has been treated incorrectly as a foal may never be reliable. It may be prone to suspicion and panic reactions throughout its entire life. A well-trained foal is much easier to back, and its first hack will be a less risky undertaking.
