In the early 1960s, several spatially and temporally separated sites of the Upper Palaeolithic were excavated on the premises of the brickyard Kargl in Langenlois (Lower Austria). This publication presents the results of interdisciplinary research on these three Upper Palaeolithic sites. For Palaeolithic research in the Danube basin, the Gravettian site A is of particular importance. The well-documented campsite with a variety of artefacts as well as several hearths and dimples made it possible to identify latent structures such as activity zones and a possible tent construction. The analysis of the stone raw materials also allows conclusions on the mobility of the hunter-gatherer communities about 30,000 years ago (calBP).
